Joey & Chloe Radesi’s Christ-Centered Outdoor Wedding Celebration

October is recorded as the biggest wedding month of the year. For Floridians, October is also Hurricane season.

Just days prior to Joey and Chloe’s wedding on October 1, 2022, Hurricane Ian hit Florida hitting the state on September 28, 2022.

Having planned a full outdoor wedding, Joey and Chloe had to change venues due to flooding at their initial venue and had to trust that the storm would be fully passed just in time for their wedding. Thankfully, it not only passed just in time, but the weather was absolutely beautiful for their big day — having clear skies and slightly cooled down temperatures after the storm.

While the storm hitting just days before their wedding was a concern, it became a testament of the Lord’s provision and care over Joey and Chloe, and an opportunity for them to trust Him with all the details of their wedding day.

Chloe explained, “even when I could’ve been so stressed and frustrated, the Lord provided this peace over every single detail. Everything that did happen was truly better than what I had originally planned. Honestly, without the hurricane hitting and actually pulling all the bad weather with it the day before our wedding, we wouldn’t have had the clear skies and beautiful weather! There’s beauty amidst the storm and the Lord’s plans are far greater than our own!”

And it truly did turn out to be one of the most beautiful wedding celebrations. Joey and Chloe had the joy of being surrounded by an abundance of their dearest family and friends to celebrate their marriage. Every moment of their wedding day was filled with so much peace and joy, and that radiated through our documentation as videographers and the photographer’s photos as well. The most beautiful part of their wedding was its display of Christ-like love all the way through. Chloe said, “we had prayed over every detail of this wedding and to hear an endless amount of people tell us that Jesus’s love was so evident in every moment — from the vows to the speeches and so forth. That’s truly more than I could’ve ever asked for was for his love to be a testament to others on such a beautiful occasion!”

Not only was it a beautiful wedding, but it turned into a pretty epic celebration. As a wedding photographer and videographer, I haven’t experienced a celebration quite like this one… There’s only so many times that your bridal party (including the bride and groom) end up in the pool at the end of the night! Honestly, Joey and Chloe are two of the most fun, light-hearted, and joyful people I have ever met; And that showed in their reception celebration in how much fun it was for them and everyone else. It went from a fun dance party to everyone ending up in the pool! While to some that may sound crazy — most people wouldn’t want to ruin their nice dresses, their makeup, or their suits… but to Joey and Chloe, life is more about experiences and memories being made, and making the most of every moment; and that turned into one of the most amazing memories shared with their best friends.

Like I said, Joey and Chloe are two of the most fun and joyful people I have ever met. You can’t be around them and not become joyful and light-hearted yourself. People like that are such a blessing to know because sometimes we take life too seriously. And while life is serious and there are things to be taken seriously, we also need to remember to enjoy life, be joyful, and trust the Lord; These two beautifully display that daily. I had the honor of not only capturing their wedding, but we got together prior to the wedding to capture their engagement film.

I have had many people ask me, “what’s the point of an engagement film?” and my answer is, “to tell about more than just your wedding day.” Because honestly, as a videographer, I’m not into creating a cute montage of your wedding day that doesn’t tell a deeper story of strong love that made a commitment to love each other forever. Marriage is so beautiful and if I’m going to capture it on film, I want you and others to remember so much more than the dress you wore or couple seconds of cutting your cake. I want you and others to remember how you came to making this commitment, and to remember the beauty of your marriage and story of coming together in this union. Because love is the most powerful thing in life in all forms — whether it be within friendships, families, or romance — but marriage is the ultimate relationship of all forms of love (friendship, family, and romance) coming together into one connection. With something as beautiful and sacred as that, it’s worth more than just a simple montage if you’re wanting to have it captured on video.

“What did you like about working with Cierra?”

Chloe: “What is not to love?! Cierra was an absolute dream! Her creativity and purpose behind every moment she captured was truly beautiful! She’s so patient, understanding, and ready to run with whatever crazy ideas you have just to make sure she puts YOU first and creates something beautiful you’ll remember forever! She welcomed and encouraged feedback and truly just captured every ‘real moment’ so perfectly. She communicated effortlessly and was a joy and an honor to work with every step of the way!”

In creating their engagement film, the most fun part was how asking interview questions turned into funny moments of Joey and Chloe not being able to be so serious in front of the camera, and that was so perfect to capture their friendship and how these two love to have fun together.

When asked what advice she would give to couples getting married, Chloe said this:

“I would just advise you to enjoy every moment and even if the vision is turning out different than you thought, just go with the flow! There were so many things I wanted to control and make perfect that were out of my control but in the end, the Lord’s details were far greater than my own and I ended up loving the new vision even more so! Just communicate with your future spouse, listen, and have an open heart and mind when they have details to input. Something that was a reminder for me was that every person that was supposed to be there was there and every thing that was supposed to happen happened. You can spend your time picking apart things you would’ve changed or you can just embrace every beautiful moment because you will never regret being present and finding the beauty in it all!”

Overall, Joey and Chloe were such a blast to work with and such a dream to capture. In a lot of ways they inspired me in how they live their lives and carry themselves, and I was blessed with new friendships in being apart of this journey with them. It was such a joy to not only document their journey and their wedding, but to have the opportunity to celebrate with them. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Radesi!
